Dr. Carlo Wood, MPT, PhD, OCS, APA Sports & MSK Physio, DNSP, FAAOMPT has over 20 years of experience, part of which was spent learning and being mentored at different points in his career by world renowned clinicians in clinical reasoning, manual therapy, neurodynamics, movement science, pain science, dynamic neuromuscular stabilization, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, and sports performance.
After returning from Australia in 2012, Dr. Wood began teaching Clinical Neurodynamics internationally for Neurodynamic Solutions. This is an international group of researchers, teachers and clinicians dedicated to the clinical application of the mechanics and physiology of the nervous system as they relate to each other and are integrated into musculoskeletal function.
He is asked annually to speak or co-chair the section on Best Practice in Sports Medicine at the World Congress of Orthopaedics. He was also asked to become an author for Physio Network which is an international group of world experts who help the physiotherapy profession worldwide by translating research intro practice. In addition he was asked to be a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy.
Dr. Wood is part of the United States Olympic Committee’s Sports Medicine Program where he treats our athletes at the Olympic Training Centers and helped our gold medal winning women’s gymnastics team and men’s gymnastics team on the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions. He assists the Napa Regional Dance Company and Broadway performers by partnering with Neuro Tour. Dr. Wood has been a facility member at several doctoral physical therapy programs worldwide. He continues to consult with doctoral physical therapy programs nationally for their accreditation and remains a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists and member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association as well as the American Association of Clinical Anatomists.
